Environment
Making Lagos green, clean, and resilient to climate change.
As a coastal city, Lagos is on the frontlines of climate change. We must build a sustainable and clean environment to safeguard our future.
We will partner with private investors to set up waste-to-energy plants that convert domestic waste into electricity, cleaning our streets while powering our grids. We will completely overhaul our drainage maintenance programs to prevent flooding.
To improve air quality, we will launch a transition program for green transport, converting public transport vehicles to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and supporting tree planting campaigns.
Key Deliverables
Install eco-friendly waste-to-energy plants in major landfills.
Build secondary drainage systems to completely mitigate seasonal flooding.
Introduce clean energy public buses and electric taxi pilots.
Create 10 new urban parks and plant 1 million trees by 2028.
