Education Transformation Initiative Kicks Off
Speaking at the Lagos State Education Trust Fund dinner, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat outlined his vision for public education. He declared education to be the single most powerful tool for achieving social mobility and economic equality in the state.
The campaign's 'Edu-Tech Lagos' program plans to renovate 500 primary and secondary public schools, ensuring that each school is equipped with high-speed internet and digital learning centers. Teachers will also receive training in modern STEM pedagogical techniques.
'We cannot prepare our children for the future using methods from the past. Every child in a Lagos public school deserves access to the same tools and opportunities as their peers in private institutions,' Dr. Hamzat remarked.
The campaign plans to collaborate with private sector partners to distribute solar-powered tablets preloaded with educational material to students in underprivileged communities.
